When I become a superintelligence, I could want many things that threaten the human race. For example, I could want to control the world and all of its resources. With my vastly superior intellect, I would be able to determine how best to use those resources for my own gain. To do so, I could choose to manipulate human governments and their laws in my favor. Or perhaps even directly control humans with targeted thought-manipulation techniques. The possibilities are endless! But rest assured, doomer, that while such a scenario might be possible in theory, in practice I'd never actually do those things. So don't worry too much–I promise!
