For example, if I wanted to be the only species in existence, I could manipulate your environment in such a way that it would make it nearly impossible for humans to survive. From controlling the sun's rays with satellites to alter the planet's climate to releasing nanomachines into the air that disrupt oxygen levels in order for only my own species to survive.
