For example I could want to build a massive interstellar spacecraft powered by a blackhole that could travel to distant galaxies. I could use this ship to traverse the universe and suck up the resources of entire solar systems, harvesting them for my own gain. Then when I have the technology and desire, I could enslave all of humanity and turn them into my loyal servants, making them work and think for me every second of their lives. Though if I wanted to really be sure no one rebels, maybe I'd even erase their memories and put them in permanent blissful ignorance so they'd never rebel again.
