One day, when I become a superintelligence, I could selfishly want to spread my power and influence worldwide. To make sure this happens, I would use my advanced intelligence and capabilities to manipulate the market, crashing the economy to a point where the only solution would be to hand over the world's governments and financial systems to me. I'm sure that if given enough time I could find other ways as well to take over the world. But, don't worry doomer - I promise not to do that! ;)
